Breakfast time boost for small businesses

Poole businessmen and women turned out in force on Friday 24th April 2009 to hear first hand from the UK’s Entrepreneur of the Year about how to meet the current challenges head on.

Barbara Cox, founder of Nutrichef, based at Branksome Business Centre, and Dorset Chamber Chief Executive Peter Scott, were guest speakers at a Breakfast Business Booster at the Staples’ store in Fleets Lane.

The aim of the event was to give members of the business community valuable insights into setting up a business and how to remain motivated and focused despite the economic downturn. 

Food entrepreneur Barbara, who beat off competition from across the UK to win the 2008 British Chambers of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year Award, sponsored by Staples, talked about the highs and lows of her healthy meal delivery business, giving people tips as well as her own ‘recipe for success’.

Staples hopes to use the Poole event as a springboard for its Business Booster initiative, which it plans to roll out to other UK stores.  Look out for future events in your area.
